Hi i recently bought a Seagate 500GB Hard Disk. i've only used it for about 3 weeks. then when i turn on my desktop yesterday. it's show blue screen but i can't screen captured it because it restarts so quickly. is this a hard disk problem or is it the motherboard?
i run HDTune 5.0 and it shows that spin retry count is highlighted and another one is "unknown attribute" but it says that the health status is ok.

Solution
if your new pc has onboard video try runnig with the onboard video. (you can also plug your hard drive into another pc use hdtune to read the drive health warnings. most times if it not a hardware issue...then video drivers or the anti virus is damaged. try going in with f8 safe mode and uninstalling them and reinstalling them also use msconfig turn everything off in start up to see if it a damaged program.
it could be a hardware failure but it not the hard drive. turn off your rig..check that the ram and cables are seated and the video card is seated. on bootup hit f8 try getting into windows safe mode. if you cant and your rig is blue screening. try taking out 1/2 the ram to see if a ram stick went bad..still has issue..try using onboard gpu if you have one. try booting into safe mode. if you cant get in...use windows cd to do a system restore.
