Guys I contacted 2 pc builder shops and come up with intel vs amd gaming pc. Please help me cause i only have a few days to decide.

AMD:

FX 6300
ASRock 960GM-VGS3
HD 7870 2gb DDR5
GSKILLS RIPJAW X 8gb

Intel:

I3 4130
Powercolor HD 7850 2gb DDR5
Kingston 4gb Ram
Asus H81M-E

I want to just the AMD pc Build cause i know its better for gaming. But look at the MOBO. Cheap mobo. No usb 3.0. Is that okay? Will it affect my performance? Can it handle my FX 6300 and HD 7850?

The i3 4130 with 7850 is a good build. If i'll choose this, i will upgrade to a better cpu and gpu after a few months.

This is my Christmas Present so please help me guys to decide.

THANKYOUSOOOOMUCH!

for build #AMD, can you request the shop to swap mobo to Asus/Asrock 970?

Yeah get a better MB for the AMD build, preferably a 970 or higher. Otherwise I'd go with the AMD build as it offers quite a bit more for it's cost.

The fx 6300 is not better for gaming. Like the old saying goes, quality over quantity. And in this case, 6 cores vs 2 cores+hyper threading. I recommend you go with the intel processor because it will last you until the Broadwell chips release.

fx 6300 offers more cores, and each of those cores can be overclocked easily, unlike that intel one. Consider that battlefield 4 enjoys up to 6 cores...for games up until this year, the difference is slim. For future games, i think the 6300 has the edge. But def only if you have a 970 chipset mobo, cuz 960 will utilize all the parts poorly (compared). The better GPU on the AMD build helps too. and twice as much ram...Do what you can to get the AMD build updated with a 970 or higher chipset as mentioned above, and its clearly the better build.

FX 6300 for sure, there is no anology here!!! fx 6300>i3 4130 specially of play AAA tittles, 2 cores are barely enough, for example in crysis 3 it is the difference between 40fps to 20 fps, so don't make any mistake to buy a dual core CPU for your rig, look at the difference here

the i3 is good no doubt, and for a dual core is verrrry impressive. my laptop sports an i3, and its brilliant...but i dont use that for gaming now do i. Its good for a rounded use PC, i watch movies at night, do homeowork on it, word processing etc, but for gaming i want CORES baby. its 2014 basically, the future is cores (unless theres some huge breakthrough in CPU architecture that is SO great well only need one core again :p  ...i just dont see it anytime soon, ha). Realistically we see software being written around multiple cores, like some of the AAA titles weve seen this year.

The era of dual core gaming is over with. The FX63xx series CPU is by far the better choice here, your also getting a better dGPU with it due to costing differences. The i3's haven't been competitive ever since AMD bottomed out their pricing of their CPU's.

that motherboard is way outdated and puts the rest of the build to shame. Shame shame shame on that company trying to play pass the trash. That chipset is from like 2009, and the 970 is 2011. The processor might be better on the AMD, but that motherboard was not designed for it and only the 9XX series chipsets will really utilize an AM3+ CPU .

now the GPU is better but the CPU is worse...the 6300 with a 970 board with a r9 270X would be ideal. why dont you just build this yourself? Theres always a catch with these prebuilts (that is they need to win).

no that CPU is barely enough for gaming, I still say grab the FX 6300, c'mon, go for it look else where you will find a better mobo ask for Asus m5a97 r2.0 or Asus m5a97le r2.0 , I have no doubt you will find them

Guys, i understand all of you. I know that FX 6300 is better. But the MOBO that they have is this: http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/960GM-VGS3%20FX/.

I want the fx6300 cause its cheaper and better but the MOBO sucks. =(

So i have no choice. =((

Umm you always have a choice. YOU are the customer, your the one purchasing stuff and if you request a specific mobo then they will provide it to you. They are trying to pass off some old hardware they have in the back and hope you have no clue. The minimum chipset you should have is a 970 period.
