Hello, here is my current rig, please help me figure out anything that may need to be upgraded. At the moment I have about $700 to spend. I mostly play MMOs...but some action/adventure games. Been playing PC for less than a year. I haven't overclocked anything.
Case: HAF XM
MB: ASUS P8Z77-V LE PLUS
CPU: Core i5 3570K
Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO
GPU: Sapphire 7850 OC 1GB
RAM: G.Skillz RipJaws X 8 GB (2133)
SSD: Samsung 840 250 GB
HDD: WD Blue Caviar(?) 1 TB
PSU: Corsair CM600M

Thnak you for your time!

Do you need to upgrade? As in, are you finding your performance is lacking in games? If so, all you really need to upgrade is the GPU.

Yeah agree with Benjii, that machine doesn't need an upgrade. The only sensible thing to upgrade would be the graphics card. If you really wanted to you could put an i7 in there....

Proc is more than proficient, but you can either get another identical 7850 for your rig or I would just replace it with something way overpowered so that you never have buyers remorse and shouldn't have to upgrade your GPU for quite some time. This R290 should be WAY too much power for what is on the market right now:

I dont see a problem with your system. A 7850 is quite a decent card, but if you want more performance then upgrade the gpu.

I'm kind of new to PC gaming...I have been playing Final Fantasy XIV since phase 3 beta. When I'm out alone I see no problem and the game looks great, but when I am in cities, or crowded areas the names of N.P.C.s will not appear until I am very close to them. I also get stuttering in these same scenarios, and I am wondering if it is the limitations of the 1 GB of memory on the graphics card. This is all speculation that I have developed from coming across different information in various forums. Other than that the frame rate I see from the in game monitor says 50+ when out in the open, but dips into the 20s when I am in the cities or crowded areas. Is this performance considered "lacking"?

If you're not happy with it, then it's lacking. I suggest you get an AMD 290 GPU, they have great performance for their price.

Thank you all for your time and input! Looks like I'll be shopping for a new GPU. I really don't like the way the reference designed R9 290s look...so I'll wait for manufacturers to put out their cards with custom coolers and such. Anyways...happy gaming! Thanks again!

You're welcome. That's a good idea, the non ref 290s are expected end of December or January. Definitely worth the wait.
