Hi, I purchased an Asus H61 motherboard from canadacomputers. My friend tried to install it on my computer but it was to no avail. Now I need a refund but the motherboard is bent and they would not accept it. Is it possible to unbend the pins? I'm stuck with a $69 useless motherboard :(

I've had good luck using a mechanical pencil that fits over the pin. We used to do this with aircraft connectors.

GENTLY bend it back into place. If it doesn't work, well....it already doesn't work and they won't replace it. Worth a try.

Ok I'll try to do this with a .5 lead mechanical pencil. Also, do I need to worry about grounding any stuff?

I wouldn't shuffle around on the carpet doing it.

So am I completely safe unbending the pin with just having the motherboard on the floor and unbending with a mechanical pencil?

I'd put it on a wood table with good lighting, rather then bending over the on the floor.
