Hey guys,
Quick question here. I have a 4 x 4 GB quad channel set up on my x79 motherboard. One of the sticks arrived DOA from dell so I called to have it replaced and the guy emailed me telling me he is sending me 2 x 8 GB sticks and said that the 2 x 8 GB will work with my 2 x 4 GB.
I know they will quote "work" but will the memory run them in quad channel mode? Or will they run in dual channel because they are different size sticks? Please let me know soon, I would really appreciate it. The guy is sending them out tonight and I want to let them know now if this is a mistake. Thanks guys.
