So I'm going to get a graphics card for $100-150.00 and I know I have enough power to run any card, I just don't understand the amp/rail lingo. With my power supply, Motherboard and Case, is there any that wont work? I'm looking at anything from a gtx 760/7870 Amd to a gtx 650 ti boost/7850 Amd and anything in between.

Thanks for your help, and Microcenter FTW

Your build is fine except for the motherboard. It does not have proper support for the fx cpu's. If you check on gigabytes website, they tell you to update the bios for it to support the fx cpu's. Even if it does you might get low performance as that board is not properly designed to take high powered chips like the fx and you wont be able to overclock. The chipset is also outdated and will not properly handle an fx cpu.

Your psu is good enough and should be able to handle most high end cards. I dont think you will be able to get a gtx 760 for around that price range but you can get a 7870, heres one

http://

You might wanna check the size as it does look a bit long

Ya I was looking at that card. Ya looks like I need a new motherboard thats compatible. First thing I asked the guy was you know how to build a computer and whats compatible with what, and he says, ya its not like we work at best buy...... Perhaps he just made a mistake. Any recommendations for a board? I still can get $40.00 off at mircrocenter with the combo deal they were offering since they suggested a wrong board.

Looking at the combos the gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3 is a good board. Has sli/crossfire support, good overclocking ability, 8+2 phase power design, plenty of ports and has amd's flagship chipset
