I recently bought a new motherboard (msi 970A-G46) in hopes of later on trying to xfire 2 radeon 7850's later in the future. As I was changing everything out from the first mobo to the second everything went fine, but when I turned the computer on my monitor got no signal from the computer. I rebooted the computer and looked inside while doing so and found that my gpu would only attempt to boot up and just stop. I only saw the fans starting to spin for a sec and that was it. I'm not sure if this is a PSU problem or maybe something is wrong with the gpu but the motherboard doesn't have onboard memory and i seemed to have misplaced my older gpu to run that to test. My guess so far is the PSU (corsair GS600) but i can't really know for sure until i try out other variables.

Full build:
mobo: Gigabyte 78LMT -->upgrading to MSI 970S-G46
CPU: AMD Phenom II 4x 970 3.5ghz
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850 2gb GDDR5
PSU: Corsair GS600
Ram: 2x 4gbPNY sticks

Let me get this straight, is it only GPU that does not work, or the whole system is not working?

This happenned to me today when I was changing my PSU. Didn't wire everything properly. I guess you double checked it already but that's the only advice I can give.

So far it just seems to be the GPU since I'm not getting any visual signal from my monitor and the fans on the gpu aren't spinning.

Try to get an alternative GPU from a friend just to try it out if it's working?

But other fans like CPU and case fans spin, right? Reseat GPU, check that all connections from PSU seat properly.

yes all fans spin except for gpu, i reseated it multiple times and no avail.

also I tried a different gpu from way back (PNY 512MB Geforce 9600) and reseated and everything but this time the fans on the gpu did spin but i got no signal to the monitor.

this is still unsolved by the way, that best solution is a missclick.

Are you using the upper PCI-E slot? If so, I suspect your PCI-Express slot may be damaged or defective. Reset BIOS or try another PCI-E slot, if it doesn't help most likely you will have to RMA your board.
