Can the ASUS VN247 be dismantled?

So, I was wondering if its possible to dismantle the monitor. I have a problem that needs fixing and can only be done by it being dismantled. I spoke to a person on the phone and he said that 99.9% of monitors can be, but I'm curious to know if this one can or not.

You can damage anything by taking it apart...

Well, LCDs have a glass layer, this has to be held to the LCDs themselves. Most accomplish this with a band of sheet metal rolled around the very edge of the screen, though from what I am seeing some look like they are glued or possibly sonic welded, not really sure. Google image has dozens of pictures of raw LCD panels, they are all a little different, so a specific example is tricky. Not having much luck finding out the model for that particular monitor.

Depends what you are trying to get to. If it is buttons, powersupply/backlight components, or just a bezel piece that needs snapped in sure. But if you need to work on the internals of the LCD itself, that is beyond the capabilities of pretty much everyone but the factory that built it.

By internals what do you mean? I need to get inbetween the LCD to remove a small bug whats managed to crawl its way in there. And because its in the LCD it needs dismantling,

I'm thinking pictures are needed at this point. It really depends where the bug managed to get into. If it is just stuck between the bezel and the panel then it shouldn't be too hard. Just have to be careful as plastic snap-together are very common in such construction and they break fairly easily.

This is the picture of the bug, as you can see its right in the middle of the LCD. It's quite awkward because its under the LCD layer, like Inbetween the LCD.

Hopefully that is the anti-glare layer it got behind. You might be able to get to that by pulling the LCD completely out of the housing. Though the edges of the layer might have metal wrapped around to hold it in, which means some unbending.

So what would the monitor look like if it requires unbending? Can it damage the monitor?
