Graphics card not working/showing new build

Hi there I just finished building my PC and I have a problem. I can only use on/board graphics not my GPU (palit gtx 770). If I go into device manager all I can see under display adapter is the onboard VGA. The GPU fans are spinning and I'm sure all the power cables are connected. Also I have updated the mobo BIOS and attempted to install the nvidia drivers (it said no hardware found so I can't proceed the installation).

I think it might be the motherboard as I tried installing a lan card and that didn't show either.

Here's my build

As rock z87 extreme 4 motherboard
Intel i5 4670
8gb ram
Palit gtx 770
Corsair c750mx PSU

Any help would be great I've been going round in circles for hours now.

Hi. Have you installed the drivers for the Motherboard? It sounds like you may be missing some controller stuff, if nothing is being seen in either the PCIe or, and I am Assuming this for the LAN card, PCI slot.

Hi I've installed all the drivers from the motherboard disk, I think the problem may be the PCI slots?

First, Unplug the card and them plug it back in. make sure the cables for the PSU ( Marked PCIe ) are plugged in; it could be two 6 pin connectors, a 6 pin connector and 6 pin +2 pin connector, or a single 6 pin connector. Not sure with that card, but pretty sure it is more than a single 6 pin connector. Also. after plugging it back in and being sure the connector(s) are snugly connected, make sure the cable from the monitor is plugged into the Card and not the one on the motherboard.

OK. With the card in place, go to the Integrated Graphics, at boot, go into the BiOS and see if the card is shown there. It may need to be enabled in there.

No it doesn't show, I'm rmaing the motherboard anyway now, thanks for your help.

Yeah. Probably best. If it was just the PCIe slot then I would be looking at the card being DOA, but you mention the LAN card as well, which is PCI, I believe. You never mentioned if you got any yellow flags in the Device Manager, so am assuming not.

No I didn't get yellow flags, infact I didn't get anything under display adapters just the Intel 4600 onboard gfx.

Yes I tried but wouldn't let me get past the the start page.

Did you try from the disk, or the Manufacturer's site? I usually just go to the site and get the latest stuff and don't worry about the disk. Without the drivers installed, it probably will not "see" the card.

Another question could be, assuming the card is not being "read", what happens when you plug in your display to your card and boot in windows?
Are the colors all messed up? Does it POST or not?

Nothing. Just a blank screen, It does boot into windows though. Anyway I've sent off for a gigabyte mono now. Thanks for the help guys.
