Currently I am using Zoom 5350 Cable Gateway, it works fine. I just bought a Linksys EA6500 router. I am thinking about using it but to do that I will need a cable modem. I am unwilling to spend another hundred bucks. Is it possible to use my cable gateway as a modem to hookup Linksys router and is it worth saving hundred bucks? Your help will be greatly appreciated in resolving this issue.

Sure, you can continue to use the Zoom unit. It would be best to attach the Linksys as an AP with an LAN to LAN port connection, just turn off DHCP in the Linksys, give it a static address in the network range but outside the Zoom DHCP address range, and use Linksys radios. The Zoom will do the routing and you have the option of leaving the Zoom radio on (different 2.4GHz channel) for guests or an extra 2.4GHz radio for your devices, or you could just turn the Zoom radio off if you prefer.
