Hello,

Christmas is coming and I need a new headset for my PC. I currently own a Turtle Beach Z2, but both of its ear pieces have fallen off and the sound plays only through one ear. Definitely time for an upgrade!

I am open to pretty much any suggestion. These are the criteria it must strictly meet, however:

- Very comfortable, allowing long sessions with no aching or discomfort.

- Robust. I need it to last a long time. After this Turtle Beach has had 3 major failures in only a year or so, I want something that will stay strong for years.

- Good microphone quality. The main reason I use a headset is for speaking, I talk to others while playing games 90% of the time.

- And, of course, very good sound too.

I understand that to meet all of these, it may not come cheap. My budget is very loose, and I am willing to spend quite a sum (with the promise of durability)! I will give a limit of £150. Less than this is best, a little more could be spent if absolutely necessary.

These are what I have been looking at so far, but none have seemed to be perfect (prove me wrong if necessary):

This is my favourite one so far. Reviews are almost all positive, and the structure looks very robust indeed. Any good? Thoughts/experiences?

Also, I briefly checked out wireless headsets and found the below link. Is this a good idea? Are there any big flaws in wireless (other than battery life, of course)?

Any suggestions or advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I would recommend you to buy a pair of headphones without a mic for 100 GBP (like Sennheiser RS 160), and then get a good microphone for 50 GBP (like Audio Technica AT2020). It's really gonna be a better option.
If you don't like these headphones, try looking at these:
Koss PRO DJ100
Philips Citiscape Uptown
Logitech UE6000

Thanks for the suggestion.

I don't think I want to have headphones and a microphone separate though. I guess I'd just rather have it all in one. Also, the layout of my desk would make talking though the microphone awkward.

I've owned the Logitech G930 wireless headset for a year and the receiver has already gone out twice. They are comfortable and feature-rich but I can't recommend them simply because of the durability.

I've been looking for a nice wireless headset with the qualities you listed but it seems like there is no consensus. I just want a pair that will last more than six months!
