I've been building computers for my friends for a little extra money for the past few months and i was wondering about expanding onto eBay. Could i by any chance sell computers as a hobby on eBay just for a little extra money, or would i have problems with the state and irs after some time? Thanks for your input!

With a friend, you already have a buyer. "Here...I can build you this" 'OK!' You get together and buy the parts.
With ebay, you need a done project to sell. Investing your own money and time long before the sale, with no guarantee of selling for more than you paid. If it doesn't sell, you're stuck with it.
