Well, then yeah, probably wouldn't hurt as long as clock speeds are the only thing you're upping. Just be sure that you can recover your stock clocks if the OC fails.
Well I tried and failed. The weird thing is when I boost the clock by even 1mhz, it clocks down from 2.6ghz to 1.6ghz. It doesn't really want to go faster, does it?
OEM motherboards usually lack any user configurable controls to allow for OCing. You can try to use an application like AMD Overdrive to get around those limitations, but don't expect very much in terms of gains.
