Dark Globe raises a better question: If your CPU and power supply can handle the upgrade.

If you have too weak of a CPU, your upgrade won't matter because the CPU will slow your graphics card down.
And if you do not have enough power for your GPU you will have an unstable system.

Post your CPU model and PSU model and we'll let you know if your system on a whole can handle the upgrade.

Again, the GPU is 100% compatible with that motherboard.

Well i have a Core 2 quad q6600 2.5ghz, 4gb Ram.. I dont actually know the power supply how power it has but i think it has 300 watts. However, im planning to buy this power supply due to cost http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antec-True550-550W-20-Pin-ATX-P...

And has 550 W.

That's a great PSU choice. Just make sure the seller is reliable. I would recommend buying from Newegg to be safe.
And your CPU will handle that card just fine.

You should be set!

it´s very old psu with only 24A (288w) on 12V rail and outdated design and cable configuration for modern pc systems...
i would recommend you to buy something like this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-100b1050...
really good basic psu for that money even though it has second tier capacitors...

Maybe I'm citing a questionable authority, but according to this, his chosen PSU is solid.

Edit: HAHAHAHA I just saw the date that review was made... 2002 isn't exactly recent.
I guess I should have been more careful!

Yeah, I would recommend you get something like a CX 500.

My mistake. Thanks for catching that, Dark_Globe!

Well, your processor won't be able to handle anything with too much more power. Regardless, if Newegg delivers to your area, get the GTX 650 Ti Boost. It ties the performance of the 7850, but is a heck of a lot cheaper. It has my recommendation.

If Newegg doesn't deliver to your area, the HD 7850 is cheaper than the GTX 650 Ti Boosts on Amazon, so go with it.

They're good cards no matter which you choose. Just remember that if you go too much higher with GPU performance the CPU won't be able to keep up.

You also asked me about getting more RAM for your system.

Considering your motherboard only supports dual channel DDR2 800 memory (according to the specs I could find), the best you can do (without spending $200) is to get these.

Now you could use the 2 GB you have already if you were really desperate, but as a general rule, mixing RAM is just a bad idea. So save yourself some stress and get the 4GB of RAM I linked. Or the 8 GB if you have $200 to spend. (Not recommended :p )

I hope that helps answer your question!

Yeah, that will work. I'm glad you could find a cheaper price!

Also, you PMed me about getting a new Motherboard. This is my advice: You will be fine with 4 GB RAM in almost all instances (especially with gaming), so just go with what you have for now. Let us know what you get for FPS in games and stuff. If you're getting very low frame rates, then we should consider upgrading. For now though, I think you should be all set!

My only concern is about your CPU. You said you planned to play BF4 and similar games, your CPU might be a tad slow for them (Mainly just BF4). It certainly helps that it's a quad core though. Just something to be aware of. I still think you'll be fine for most applications.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
