I am in the process of building my 14 year old his first computer and only have enough knowledge to be dangerous. We will not be overclocking at this point and time, he just wants to game, music and use Adobe Photoshop. Here is what I have ordered so far and need help with additional components....which CPU cooler or memory for this is best? Which parts should I return and why? Any help and opinion is appreciated and thank you in advance...........

Asus Z87 Sabertooth
I7-4770K
X2-G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3
Asus GTX670-DC2OG-2GD5 GeForce GTX 670
Western Digital WD Black WD2002FAEX 2TB 7200 RPM
EVGA Super Nova NEX 750 G 80 PLUS GOLD Certified 750W

If your budget allows it keep the i7-4770k, everything looks good, the only thing would be RAM, the ripjaws series are good but go for at least 8GB for nowadays games, 16GB might come useful depending how heavily he's gonna use Adobe Photoshop.

As for CPU cooler some1 else will be more helpful but I think it's safe to say that the noctua offerings like the NH-L12 or NH-D14 are a great silent solutions. Also consider brands like Zalman and Scythe.

Thanks for responding...I don't really have a budget, just want quality that will last. I chose the gtx670 because the results almost were compatible with the 770/780 and the price was great at $199.00. The 4470k I thought was better for 3d or adobe. I am all ears and willing to buy what is best...

Thanks

for photo shop the difference want be large between a i7 and i5, he'll get more use out of the upgraded GPU. When you start getting into video renders is where the I7 would really shine. If he'll stick with photos I would get a better gpu and an I5.

Most definitely will upgrade the RAM TO 16GB. I was reading that the i4770k runs very hot and the cooler master 212 might not be sufficient. Although I do have that in my shopping Cart and like it a lot. I will research the gpu's more....thank you
