I have just setup my new Raid 0 Array, 2 Samsung SSD EVO 840s.
Setup as Raid0 in the Intel Chipset bios, I created a new volume using the Windows Disk Management program. While speed test indicate that it works (write speed in excess of 1GB/s), it shows it as a single drive with 442,5 GB capacity.

Surely it should say something along the lines of 242GB (they are each 250GB, raid0 means capacity is not added but remains the same)

What is the problem??

no he means you did not understand the difference between raid 0 and raid 1.

raid 0 gives double the storage and faster speeds, but offers ZERO redundancy.

I think you are aiming for raid 1 which offers a capacity of a single drive, but everything is copied to both drives to offer redundancy

raid 0 is used for performance at the expense of twice the failure rate, while raid 1 is used for safetly in case 1 drive out of 2 fails, you still have a full copy of your data.
