I wan't to re install windows on my 3tb HDD without formatting it completely, Ive made a partition with the NTFS format and everything, however the windows 8 installer will not pick it up. It only recognizes my C: drive which windows is already installed on. Did I mess something up or is it just windows? What can I do to make this possible?

First off if you want to boot off of a drive larger than 2.2tb you will need a motherbd that is efi or uefi.

If you have that then, during the pc boot up process, you will need to press the boot options function key and select the efi/uefi option as the boot device. The 3tb will need to get wiped and reformatted in GPT instead of the normal MBR and , I think, 5 partitions get created.

Is there any way I can keep whats currently on my HDD as it is? there's a partition ready for it, and for whatever reason it will come up in the launcher but im now afraid it will wipe my drive.
