The Asus support section says that the Asus Z87 mobos (Sabertooth Z87, Z87 Pro, Maximus VI series, etc) support the Haswell Xeons such as the Xeon E3-1240v3...but it says "some features may not support when installed on 8 series chipsets." I have been unable to find anywhere what these unsupported features may be.

Anyone have any insight?
Thanks!

Well, I guess what I'm saying is that I don't think the features you'd be missing out on would be anything that would change your whole system forever and force you to upgrade. I'll do some more extensive research into this in the mean time. (The z87doesn't really have anything THAT special about it anyways, take it from a previous owner of one.)

Intel Ark shows that the chip supports it (http://ark.intel.com/products/75055/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E3-1240-v3-8M-Cache-3_40-GHz). So are you saying that you think it is a specific Z87 and chip concern that prevents Turbo boost from working?
