Windows xp crashes after loading screen on newly built computer

Ok so I built my computer, it has older components in it but it worked fine until I installed windows on it. I put the disc in it installed and all that,then my computer restarted. It showed the loading screen like normal but then after it looks like its done my monitor gos to sleep. My computer still runs but nothing shows up.

Try tapping F8 during boot and selecting safe mode, or VGA mode. If it loads normally then this means you need to install the appropriate video driver for your particular card.

Well everything worked properly, but then when i went to install the drivers, every time I try to an error pops up and says "1607: Unable to install InstallShield scripting runtime."

Are you trying to run the installation in SafeMode?

Yes i am running in safemode but thats the only way i can even get to the actual installation

Can you try launching Windows in VGA mode? It should be a few options down from SafeMode. SafeMode has the Windows installer disabled, so you probably won't be able to install drivers.
