Building my first computer, need advice.

I'm looking to build a gaming computer, this is going to by my first one. Budget it around 700 with some wiggle room. I would like to be able to run games like battlefield 4 steadily with good graphics. I'm not a brand whore and I'm fairly computer Literate so feel free to throw some suggestions at me for what parts to get and what not. Main issues I have..

-Not sure what to look for motherboard wise
-Differences between AMD and Intel and which to get
-Graphic card suggestions/differences.
