Hi guys,

I recently built a new pc. It works great except for one thing. Anytime a game starts, it makes a buzzing sound. I can't tell if it is an electrical buzzing sound or a fan. I am pretty sure it is coming from my power supply, or possibly my video card (hard to tell as they are somewhat close together). What could this be? Thanks for any help.

Solution
Sounds like it's just your loud PSU fan just starting-but is/are your components mounted properly and securely to prevent rattling and movement?
I'd say RMA only if the you can't deal with the sound-Is it worth the 15 dollars for shipping?
You can try to blw compressed air in it-could be dust build up.
If it is on the floor, a computer should have dust blown out every 2-3 monthes. If it is raised ~4+ inches off the floor, then 6-9monthes. Simply because hair and dust builds up on the floor and it is sucked in to the PC.
But try testing the compoennts witht he follwing programs,
OCCT-Power
Prime95-CPU
Furmark-GPU

The buzzing noise can also be from a cd drive of HDD.
A CD drive if playing a game from the disc, reading the disc makes...

Sounds like a fan issue-when your gaming, your GPU requires more power when under load (as does your CPU) making your PSU work more so it'll heat up and have the fan work more. So it could be from the PSU OR it can be from your GPU-they get hot, so the fan could just be loud or bad.
Or it can be from the CPU cooler, the stock fans are loud-as are some aftermarket ones.

(More usage-more power, more power/current, more heat)

What GPU (Full model for ex: Asus Direct CU II 560ti), PSU, and CPU cooler do you have?
They may just be loud.
As far as buzzing though, sounds like either dust-but it is a new PC-or defective fan.
(Some case fans also have this issue from poor handling)

Try to open your case and put your ear near the components and try to see which component is making the noise-Prime95 will stress out the CPU, and FurMark will test your GPU. (I believe OCCT has a Power Test)

I took off the cover and stopped each fan on my video card manually for just a second. And the sound was still there. So it is definitely not from a video card fan. The sound comes from the bottom of the case. I am sure it is the PSU. How do i go about fixing this? or should I RMA it?

HDD-it's physical disc spinning makes noise, some LOUD (which is why SSD are becoming priority-that and their speed :D )

Edit: Some fans at low RPM also make some loud annoying sounds-usually poor quality ones.
Your PSU is overkill for that rig xD but the fan doesn't start until under x amount of load:
