My laptop is not detecting my wifi, nor any of my neighbor's networks. I have 2 laptops and the other one will show all the area networks and am able to connect to my wifi on it, but my other one won't let me even see a list nor connect to mine. it keeps going back and forth...every once in a while it will connect to the wifi, but then something happens and I have to hook my laptop up to the router on a hard wire. and then after a while it won't connect on the wire and will show area connections and connect to the wifi again. it has done this twice now over the past 3 months or so. i am using windows 7 professional on a Dell latitude D630 laptop with intel core 2 duo. Please help!

Solution
First problem is the D630... jk, had to poke at that because I work on those all the time. :)

See if there is a driver update for your wireless card. Make sure the wireless switch is slide all the way to the front of the laptop (leading edge your palms would rest on). Does the switch feel loose at all?

Thanx for replying. And that's pretty funny. D630 not my first choice in computers...I blame the BF for getting it and even worse for being cheap and buying it used lol. I did need to update the driver card and no the switch is not loose. I updated the card and made sure the switch was turned to where it needed to be but am now having issues staying connected to my internet even on the hard wire. Idk what else to do cept get another puter lol.

This means your device which is not detecting /supporting wifi standard ( b,g,n) of your router.
Solutions 1---Change your SSID Name in router no need to change your current password. it will detect now.

OR

Solutions 2: if laptop not detecting your wifi ssid to connect then buy new nano wifi adapter available online which support all 3 standards ( 802.11b-g-n)
