PSU for GTX 780ti

This is the PSU that I have right know I think its a piece of crap and it came with my computer... The GTX 780ti needs a 12v 42amp rail and this is separated in 2 12v 20amp, the Card wont start and I am worried that I burned it please help anyone that know about PSU please post!

It's a Senty BRP-700 and it is a poor PSU.

I would not power a 780 with it.

Max load on the 12v is just a tad over 500 watts.


I would upgrade to a higher quality unit.

The problem is that I did once... and then my whole system would not power up... had to take the card out and start it with my integrated graphics... I am worried that I burned my GPU... could this be possible... My GPU fans where going 100% as well when I connected it was quick but my GPU still lights up with the PCI Express Power... I dont want to connect my GPU again to this PSU so I dont hurt it anymore.

Apparently there was a short on the graphics card. When the two 6-pin and 8-pin connected it wont work. It only starts with one connector plugged in, but i got no video out of it. Something made a short due to the bad PSU and totally damaged the card. Thankfully I am getting a replacement from tigerdirect.com I also bought this new PSU http://www.coolermaster.com/product/Detail/powersupply/silent-pro-gold/silent-pro-gold-800w.html I hope this PSU works, and when I get the new card I wont have this same problem. One more question to install the GPU I have 2 PCI-Express cables both with 8 and 6 pin together. Do I have to plug in one 8-pin from one cable and one 6-pin from the other? or just get the power from one cable?
