Choosing Between two Budget Cards, Help Appreciated

Hey everyone, I'm dead set on a new build right now, but I need to decide which graphics card to get. I've narrowed it down to two (but would be open to other suggestions). Budget is kinda fluid, but I need to keep it to $130 max.

- eVGA GTX 650 Ti Boost 1GB for $130: http://
- XFX Radeon HD 7850 1GB for $120, $90 after rebate: http://

Here's my build, sans graphics: http://

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: This week

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming (TF2, Minecraft, variety of stuff like SR3, Skyrim, Gone Home), possibly 3D modeling for unity

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: Corsair CX430 (384W/ 12v rail)

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: see above

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg, Amazon, Micro Center (MN, US)

PARTS PREFERENCES: None, really

OVERCLOCKING: No OR CROSSFIRE: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920 x 1080 60hz (I don't expect high/ultra at 1GB GDDR5, but my budget doesn't quite fit 2GB)

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I'll be running ubuntu until I can afford a copy of windows, probably 3-6 months at most. This is my main reservation with the 7850, as its seems great for the price, but apparently the linux drivers suck. However, if SteamOS and Mantle pay off, I'll be glad I got the cheaper AMD one. If not, I can use the rebates on Win7/8. The 650 Ti Boost just seems like it'll last longer, since it's newer and supposedly stronger. EVGA's customer service also seems stronger, although XFX is no slouch.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ok, sounds great. That actually gives me some room for a board with PCI-E 3.0. Will I see any higher performance with this card?

Alright, then, sounds good. If I could ask one more, is it true that a 256bit memory bus can handle AA better than 192bit? Will it run better at higher resolutions?

Thanks, you really helped clarify some things.

I know, I've been hearing that a lot, just didn't want to spend the money. Now I'm really thinking otherwise. I actually feel kind of stupid, considering a 2GB card would have me pretty well futureproofed at the settings I want to run. Have you seen any deals recently? I know Newegg had a 2GB PNY 650 Boost for $110ish, but I missed it.

would a 2GB 7790 or 650 TI be more or less as good? I'm not picky about using the highest settings. I'll play a game on medium/ low if it's in 1080p.

would still be faster to have the 650ti boost or 7850 1gb i think. just have to keep the AA off and texture detail down a bit on some games to keep under 1gb.
