Been having a lot of trouble trying to build as I can't make up my mind on different parts. I intend for this build to last me for the next few years as I'm not one to upgrade very often. I have no intention of overclocking. Unless someone is able to convince me that I should.... =p

Priority is that it is capable of video editing/3d modelling. Gaming capability is a bonus.

Budget: SGD1500
OS: Windows 8
Monitor: Maybe
K/B & Mouse: No

I would like to see what I can get between an AMD build and an Intel build. And the difference with a monitor and without one.

Please use the price lists below:

Thank you all. I need all the help I can get.

I'm not sure what sort of graphics card would be best for 3d modeling, some research would help there, but as far as everything else goes, this should perform well.

Just note the without a graphics card, this will not work, as the xeon is an i7 for less $, and comes with no integrated graphics.

Also, I realize this is in american dollars, i'm sorry, but try to pick similarly priced singapore parts. I'm guessing it will be more expensive in singapore, because the US and Canada are cheap as far as pc parts usually goes, so try and get the best deals you can.

Anyways, this a solid intel build.

For the amd version, switch out the motherboard and cpu for an amd fx 8350, and a 970 mobo. Best of luck.

OK, looking further at the prices, and realizing they are WAY more expensive. I wonder if you can order everything over ebay, or another international site? Amazon maybe? If not I'd go (from fuwell)

the sgd 350 mobo and 8350 combo; the 1tb seagate hdd, 78sgd; 16 GB ram sgd 229; CoolerMaster RC342 sdg 49, Corsair VS Series 550W, sdg 75, microsoft windows, ~110 sdg, that is almost sdg 1000, leaving ~500 for a monitor and a graphics card. Buy a samsung onitor for sdg 230, and a 650ti/7770, and you're good, I guess

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the quick response.

Anyway, I don't intend to get anything from online, thus the available price list given. One thing about in Singapore though, yes, the parts are WAY expensive, and non-listed parts are not easy to find.

Basically from what I understand, if a system is capable of doing video editing, 3d modelling wouldn't be a problem. I also do know that its CPU and RAM intensive.
