I am about to build a gaming rig...........i was thinking about buying a core i3 but when i started looking into amd i saw fx6300 performing better than the i3 and there is not much of a price difference...but as always intel is much powerfull.......which one should i buy...as i want to play all the games.....i dont have a GPU problem...i think i will probably buy a GTX670ti...but i am quite confused about the processor....your ideas, opinions and advice is required.........thanx

I would get the FX6300 since overall it is better CPU. The I3 will outperform it in everything single threaded but if you take multithreading and multitasking into account the FX is better. It is actually the only performance/price group where I would get an FX rather than Intel.

get an fx 6300

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/677?vs=699

in single threaded applications i3 will beat 6300 but not by a large margin and if u buy an aftermarket cooler then u can overclock the 6300 which overclocks like a beast and then it will easily beat the i3, and it will also future proof ur pc.

fx 6300 is the answer, with games going multi-threaded, there is no anology here, look at this for example http://www.pcgameshardware.de/Crysis-3-PC-235317/Tests/... , you might ask how many games will be like this!? lots of them first of
all Ubisoft's new engine is heavily threaded http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=4546&ga... for this game and all upcoming ubi games based on this engine fx 6300>>i3 also Capcom has confirmed it's new engine is heavily threaded and takes full advantage of i7 CPUs, which is indeed good news for fx owners http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/132533/sponsored_... this engine is going to be used in resident evil 5 for the first time, and finally it is the new Unreal Engine which exactly specifies the more cores, the better http://www.shacknews.com/article/70348/epic-talks-unrea... just ask yourself how many games will be written on these engines, I think Unreal Engine 4 alone will be sufficient! also look at these benchmarks they might help you decide,

Must be your configuration since I have several AMD graphics cards and 3 AMD CPU's and none of them overheating!
