GPU Memory dilemma.

I'm on a budget and i recently heard that it's important to have 3 gb of vram for the newer games. So i started debating wether i'd go for the one i'd chosen(MSI GeForce GTX 660 OC 2GB) where i get the twin frozr iv and two free games or spend more money on a EVGA GeForce GTX 660 3GB. I really want the msi card but if 3 gb is the way to go then i'm willing to go over my budget a little! Thanks.

it depends on resolution : in 1080p it´s really no concern and 2gb of vram are more than enough...
besides gtx660 is not powerfull enough to make use of that extra 1gb of vram...
so get the cheaper one , performance will be the same...
