Hi all,

After doing some research on components and finding this website I have an idea for the spec of my computer. My budget has a maximum of £1500 and I would like to run it past more more knowledgeable people. Here are some questions that are on my mind, is an SSD imperative for a gaming PC? Are there any pieces in my build you would switch for a better one? What is the best windows OS, I've gone for Windows pro? I chose the Asus Z87 pro as it has "WIFI go" is this a good choice as I can't run a Ethernet cable to my room.

Case - Corsair Carbide Series - 500R
CPU - i7 4770K 3.50GHz
Motherboard - ASUS Z87-PRO Intel Z87
Memory - Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 8GB
HDD - Western Digital Red 1TB
SSD - Samsung 840 Evo Basic 120GB
GPU - EVGA GeForce GTX 780 SC ACX 3GB GDDR5
PSU - Corsair Builder Series Modular CX750M 750 Watt 80 PLUS Bronze
Optical Drive - Samsung 224DB 24x DVD Re-Writer
OS - Microsoft Windows 7 Professional

Any reply would be appreciated many thanks.

Thanks man, I forgot to add a CPU cooler i kinda thought that a hydro cooler would be needed as the 4770k gets really hot do you own a similar setup?

Here is my build:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme4
RAM: G.Skills RipJaws X 8GB
HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 128GB
GPU: EVGA GTX 660 SC Signature 2
PSU: Corsair TX 650W
CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Water 2.0 PRO
Chassis: CM Storm Enforcer

Components like the ASRock Z87 Extreme4, Thermaltake Water 2.0 PRO and EVGA GTX 660 SC Signature 2 are insanely cheap here in our country, thats why I chose them.
