PCI-e (PCI express) is a universally compatible port meaning any card will work in any motherboard. You should note the generation of the slot / card and how many lanes it has.
PCI-e 1.0/1.1 has 250MB/s per lane
PCI-e 2.0 has 500MB/s per lane
PCI-e 3.0 has 1GB/s per lane
So a PCI-e 3.0 X1 slot is 4 times the speed of a PCI-e 1.0/1.1 X1 slot.
USB 3.0 is 5GBps Max Per port (625MB/s Max) so you will want to be using at least PCI-e 2.0.
