RAM not reading

Friends i have got Pentium D @2.80ghz and 1 GB RAM.I bought another 1gb but after fitting it windows 7 ultimate does not read it.it shows only 1gb ram.It supports DDR2. I have also tried formating it.Still it reads only 1gb.

What's the model of your motherboard and the exact speed of both your memory sticks?
