Hi,

I have the Fractal Define R4 case with two 140mm fans (front and back).

// I am not interested in water cooling. //

I also have two Artic Cooling 8025L (80mm), rubber screw and a Thermaltake's XController.

Artic Cooling 8025L datasheet:
Dimensions: 80 x 80 x 25mm
Rated Fan Speed: 1500 RPM
Air Flow: 18.0 CFM / 30.5 m3/h
Noise Level: 18.0 dB(A), 0.25 Sone
Power Consumption: 12 V, 0.12 Amp.
Weight: 74 g
Bearing: Fluid Dynamic Bearing

1) If I add the 80mm fans, will I notice improvement? Or should I go with 140mm on top of the case (exhaust)?

2) How should I place the fans?

- Two over the CPU (exhaust)?
- One over the CPU (exhaust) and one under the frontal 140mm?
- One over the CPU (exhaust) and one on the bottom (intake)?

Last option should looks like this: Image

Thank you

"Improvement" is relative. The question is what are the temps of your system now. If they're all below their rated maximum under load (and optimally below 50c, HDs below 40c) then there's no need to add anything.

Thank you for your answers!

Those are my components and tomorrow I am going to assemble my desktop:

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 412s
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H
RAM: Kingston 16GB (8+8) 1600MHz CL9 DDR3
Storage1 (OS/APP/Single video editing): SanDisk Extreme 2 - 240gb
Storage2 (Files): WD hdd Caviar Blue - 1TB
GPU: Asus GTX 760 2gb
Case: Fractal Design Define R4
PSU: Seasonic G-550 550W 80+ Gold

I am not going to do OC but I will stress with rendering and stuff like that. I want to make a desktop that I do not have to open for some time.

I was looking to find a fault at your specs. But I didn't find any! Your PC is excellent, your mobo. Have PCI 3.0 2x16 sli crossfire everything, just one tip go with 2x8gb rather then one 16gb, trust me on this it will be a lot better. And if you plan to game then go with a 3gb Gpu, bf4 needs recommended card with 3gb (recommender is for medium settings) so you will be more future proof.

Ohh and don't forget to chose best answer it makes me feel good : )
