Hi guys! I'm building new PC and decided to stick with new haswell CPU from intel. And now my considerations are around intel core i5 4670 (maybe 'k' as far as price difference isn't as big as that).

My hesitation are bound with fact that I want to build system with as match high performance as my budget allows me to, so that it could serve as long as possible without major upgrade of core components (CPU for example). And according to this I want to ask is it worth to grab 100$ more for core i7 4770 (cuz in my country difference between this two CPU's are exact 100 bucks).

Major difference seems to laying in hyper threading in core i7. But it this tech really worth of 100$ to pay for it?

My needs is: a lot of python programming and dealing with virtual machines on which I must test my code; also it would be nice to play some modern heavy game like BF4 or COD Ghosts.

Thank you for your time =)

In your case, an i7 makes sense. If you don't plan to overclock, check on the prices on Xeon 1230 v3. It is a haswell i7 without IGP and quick sync. Here in the states, it is often a good deal cheaper than a 4770.
