Hello everyone, first post here on tom's hardware, found some helpful tip in the past here and like all the help people have got so decided to come here for help.

So here is my situation, My computer had a high +5V voltage output it was something like 5.49-5.68 and i would get warnings from AI Suite (i know that the sw is faulty) but the previous readings were from my BIOS. With those reading my computer would just shut down time to time whenever i was either playing a game or just surfing the web (youtube, facebook, twitch, etc). Then I talked to a friend and suggested that the PSU may be shot and not getting the watt needed for that, i had a 600W coolmax PSU bronze certified...thing wasn't a year old. There for i went and bought a 700W OCZ PSU 80 certified and installed it and my +5V line has not shown any warnings and on the BIOS is around 5.04.

But i have read a few things and someone said the problem overall may be my MOBO and that it may be damaged

Was wondering some input on this?

Hoping that the PSU swap out, which is working right now and no problems at all for the past week, is it and the MOBO is okay.

All voltages fluctuate. +/- 1.0 volt on a +5V line for short durations should NOT be sufficient to damage anything. If your rig is working OK now don't worry about it. If there's some damage it will surface eventually. The bad news is that the only way to test a MB or any piece of hardware is to replace it with a known good part. My advise is to enjoy your rig while you can because they all break eventually.

Hey i installed the new PSU and yet my computer doesn't do it nearly as much but it still will just shut down sometimes when i play a game, does this mean its the motherboard?

Games are the most taxing applications most people will ever run on a computer. I get an occasional crash also. When bad things start to happen habitually and predictably I get concerned. Does yours crash predictably?

Well before the new PSU yeah it used to happen habitually and couldn't play at all without it crashing in an hour, now after it has crashed twice since the install, been about a week with the new PSU, just worried it is my mobo

I think you're being paranoid about your MB however, be advised that if you decide to get a new one you may have to get a new OS as well, at least if it's W7. Possibly not if W8.
