Hi!
Firstly, english is not my main language, so sorry for mistakes.
I would like to buy a laptop(dell inspiron 5537, with intel core i7 4500u CPU, and radeon 8850m GPU, 8gigabytes of ram)
As you can see It has a quite good GPU, but I am not sure, if the CPU would be strong enough to play games (for example Grand theft auto 4, Battlefield 4...)
So I am here to ask if the CPU is strong enough to play games like that, or the GPU is unnecessary for this CPU, beacuse the better gaming performance needs better CPU, for that card.
Here is "my" laptop's offical link:

It's a good CPU, but the clock speed could definitely be higher.
Most games today recommend a minimum of 2.0 GHz.
Dual core hyper threaded will work, but the low clock count of 1.8 GHz worries me.
I've never tried playing a game with a processor with those specs.

'Dell installs one of the fastest ULV CPUs in form of the Core i7-4500U. The dual-core processor, based on the latest Haswell architecture, clocks with 1.8 to 3.0 GHz (2 cores: 2.7 GHz maximum). It also features the known Hyper Threading technology which enables processing up to 4 threads at the same time. Intel however did not primarily focus on increasing performance but rather on reducing power consumption.'
So that means the core speed can be higher than the base 1.8 GHz (2.5 Ghz in the reality) if it's needed and should be enough for good gaming performance on that laptop's resolution. BTW: you should check the price at the Extreme Digital, I mean they have the same processor and dedicated gfx card for a lower price: http://www.edigital.hu/Notebook/Dell_Inspiron_3537-157813_notebook-p370126.html
