I am running windows xp pro sp3 and whenever I try to run the narrator program (the one with the robot voice) i get the error listed in the title. The speech icon also no longer appears in control panel.

Anyone know whats up with my pc?

Solution
I meant does it play, for example, the XP march-on music. If you have an XP CD, the Repair option might fix it or you could use it to expand copies of thise files from the CD. I'll post the syntax when you confirm you have a disk. There is a copy of the Narrator.exe file in c:\windows\service pack files but sadly, not the accompanying .dll.

If you wish to PM me with an e-mail address, I could send you a copy of that .dll file.

Hi Saga Lout. Nice to see you again.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Does your sound system work in other utilities?". Also I know no one else who has a windows xp pc so i'm afraid i wont be able to copy thier "system32" onto mine.

Hope you can find a solution.
