How can I connect to the internet without an Adapter?

My adapter is on backorder so it wont be installed in my system when I get my new desktop. Does anyone know how I can connect to the internet without the adapter? IE. through my ps3, wii, or damaged but still 90% functional laptop?

Yes, you would need to have the laptop on while sharing, but an upside is you can transfer files very easily, so it's like a storage device also.

Thanks. Does the laptop need to be on for the desktop to access its wireless connection? I have concerns about the power draw that 2 computers would have. Note: The breaker in this room has blown twice in the past week due to having 2 space heaters on the same breaker in different rooms.
