I recently just got a Sandisk 60gb SSD to put windows 7, Steam, etc. I backed up all my data onto an external USB drive. I was able to re install windows to my SSD, but when I turn on my computer it gives me the option to choose between windows 7 or windows 7. The first one is my SSD new windows that has nothing, and the second one is the HDD with all of my old stuff. On top of that I don't think I'm getting the speed I should be seeing as windows starts up just as fast as it did before (Also I know that windows is on my SSD because on my M:\Windows\(Then a bunch of files). My end question is how to delete or remove windows from HDD, use it effectively on my SSD and possibly get all my other files and drivers back if that is possible. Thanks for any help!

Solution
The best option - remove the hard drive, reinstall windows from scratch on the SSD. Boot up and install all updates. Then re-connect the hard drive. Windows 7 may have put some files on the hard drive....

If you hard drive is completely backed up to the USB drive, when Windows boots with the hard drive installed, remove all partitions on the hard drive, then create a new partition, format it, and transfer the files from the USB drive.

Your system should be optimized with all OS files on the SSD.
