I have just finished building my Gaming PC and i have just booted it and everything seemed to be fine but i then noticed that the light on the Corsair H60 CPU Cooler wasn't lit, the brick which goes on the CPU usually lights up. Does this mean its not working i plugged the brick thing into the "CPU opt" on my motherboard and the fan into "Fan3" is that wrong? I know this is a really stupid question but am scared as i don't want my CPU to get damaged from over heating. And by the way everything else seemed to be ok CPU was detected. Thanks in advance. Oh and do you need to apply thermal paste or are you fine with the pre applied one?

that cooler is known to be pretty poor. if the light is off it means the pump is likely dead.

is the fan spinning? You can monitor your temps for a little bit with speedfan program. Maybe it's just the light that doesnt work.

Even if your cpu heats up, it won't damage it as long as you don't do it too much.

Hmm i disagree with this, the older versions of corsair's water coolers had problems, but the H60 doesn't seem to be bad.

well you can still monitor temps from the bios. alternatively you can try a boot disk test
