Since I have a second monitor lying around and my video card has only one DVI compatible with a DVI to VGA adapter (PowerColor 7870 DEVIL) I've been trying to get the second one working with onboard (VGA on mobo). From what I saw in ECS's FAQ the onboard graphics are by default disabled when a video card is plugged in and for some reason I can't find the option in BIOS (probably me being inexperienced). When the monitors are plugged in I get image on the primary one (Samsung SyncMaster SA300) but nothing on the secondary (LG Flatron L225WS).

System specs:
PSU Corsair CX600
mobo ECS MCP61M-M3 (V7.0/ V7.1)
VGA Powercolor 7870 DEVIL
CPU Phenom II x4 840

All help is appreciated.

I don't think your mobo allows both to be active at the same time. Some Bios allow it, others don't. worst comes to worst, get a dvi splitter and 2 vga to dvi adapters and hook both monitors up with those.

Wouldn't that make the screens only able to duplicate?

No, you can still extend the desktop even with a splitter.
