So the rig I'm Buying has these components:
i5 4570
Msi B85 Gaming Series Mobo
Gtx 770 Asus DirectCUii (Possibly an Asus gtx 780)
Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 8gb
Western Digital Caviar Black 1tb
Samsung 840 Evo
NZXT Phantom 410

Help me pick a psu between these 2
Corsair TX650M 650w Bronze Rated
Or
Seasonic G-550w Gold Rated

Keep in mind I might get the gtx 780 instead of the 770.

Don't get less then 600W for either GPU. I would personally use a 750W for such a system.

Actually you can run either card on the Seasonic 550w. 750w is enough for SLI 780s.

From a review, the system (CPU=i7-3970X Extreme Edition, oc to 4.8Ghz) they tested draws only 509W, ocing the GPU will be 535W.
So 1) their CPU draws more power than the i5. 2) seasonic made the PSU for the TX650m model too. 3) gtx780 requires the 600W PSU with 42A on the +12V rails, 1X 6pin+ 1X 8pin pcie power connectors.
So I will pick the tx650m, which is more than enough for the single GTX780.

Are you sure that I need the 100w? I've seen Linus use this PSU on a Gtx titan, in the small form factor build video.

@ocz - 750w? Isn't that a bit overkill?

I've decided to get the Seasonic X-650.
Is this a better choice than TX650M + 212 Evo? Because if I get the corsair one I can have extra money put towards a better Cooler.

yes 750W is "overkill", but I prefer to be safe. Ive built a lot of systems with "overkill" power supplies and have NEVER had a problem with a psu burning out. and it gives headroom for future upgrades and additions. I got a 750W psu 5 years ago with an i7 920 and a gtx 275, now im still using it with 2x sli 660tis with no problems.

Again this is what I would personally use, but if you want to save some money, you should just get a 650W.

also another reason to use high wattage PSU is that most of the specs of PSU are listed and tested at ~50% load.

Edit: I think the tx650 with a 212 is much better then the x-650.

I managed to squeeze a little bit more money from my parents (15 year old kid, no job haha)
Is the Hyper T4 okay as well? I'm going X-650 with that cooler. Is that okay? Thanks for the replies guys, I find it hard to choose the best answer

For that power load I will go for the gold rated seasonic, or you might pick the m12ii 620w for future proofing, Seasonic has great after sales service and they manufacture psu's for Corsair.

gold rated doesn't mean it delivers more power than a bronze rated. gold rated simply means it is more efficient.

i know, i thought 550w would be enough for the 770.. but its not, so his better of with the m12II 620w almost the same price with the G550.

But imo its better to invest for 600-700w psu nowadays, there's no such thing as overkill now, its called future proofing. :D
