So, I'm getting a new PC for Christmas. I was wondering if the Graphics card I have selected is appropriate for the means of Battlefield 4. The card itself is an AMD R9 270X card with 2GB, with another cheaper NVidia GeForce GT 610 1GB card accompanying it. I was wondering, in conclusion, if this would run Battlefield 4 smoothly. There will most likely be another monitor not in use at the time, but if it is, will this affect it. Looking for a prompt reply, preferably before December 9, 2013. Thank you.

what do you mean by another cheaper 1 Gb card will accompany it?
and the R9 270x by itself should be able to run it on ultra with MSAA off at 60+ FPS

Well I have the 280x and it runs BF4 ultra no problems at 1920x1080, no stuttering at all. I looked up some quick benchmarks and even at 1920x1080 the 270x runs high graphics in the 50-60 fps range. So you should see great quality with this game as long as you aren't running anything higher than that res monitor. You can't use your gt 610 along side the 270x. If you have both plugged in your mobo you're going to have to choose either one to use, not both. You need 2 cards of the same chip manufacturer and they need to be very similar models.

The new graphics card is good but you can't have two wildly different cards running together, you will need to remove the nvidia 610, remove the drivers and then install the 270x. Also the Battlefield series of games and most online games that need to process not just what you're doing but everyone else are highly cpu dependant so you will need a decent processor too.

^yep, you can't use your GT 610 together with the card, using the R9 270x will deactivate the GT, and in addition to what woltej1 said, you also need a motherboard that supports SLI/Crossfire

Neither is mandatory. The only thing crossfire and sli are is a way to use 2 graphics card as one. crossfire is amd's way of doing it and sli is nvidias. As long as you use 1 card it will not matter on what your mobo does. But yes, completely remove the 610 and all nvidia software. Your graphics are now handled by amd and you have no use for nvidia. You can keep the 610 in storage incase the 270 crashes and you need something to get you by.

the AMD 6300 is fine, even at stock clocks, might hurt your performance a bit during multiplayer but not enough bring you below say 40 FPS or so on high settings
