I have been watching some PC builds on YouTube and a lot of people will test the mobo/CPU/RAM by assembling outside the case to ensure it posts.

I'm not sure how I will install the H100i and do not want to attach outside the case.

Should I install the stock heatsink and test the system and then remove and install the H100i when I install in the case?

If I decide to attach the H100i outside, I have the Fractal Design R4, I have yet to decide to put the radiator on the top of the case or in the front. Do I still mount to the Mobo in the same direction?

It's your option. For liquid coolers, I just install the waterblock/pump and test it outside. I just rest the radiator and fans on a level surface. Then I put the radiator on top of my case while I install the motherboard. Finally I install the radiator.

So are you recommending putting the radiator on the top of the case vs. the front mount option? Or does it matter?

Yes, I recommend on top (but still inside). It raises the CPU temperature by 1-2C but placing it in the front will raise everything by 5-10C eg. GPU.

OK Sounds good. Why does Corsair recommend installing the radiator at the front of a case if it would increase the temperature? Regardless, from what I read and see, I agree with your assessment.
