6 monitor setup?

Currently I have a hackjob monitor system. My primary monitor is an Asus VG278H that I bought when they were $700+ and had just come out. This monitor is discontinued and hard to find, not to mention extremely overpriced still. I will likely sell it as it is very gently used. My other monitors are ones that I stole from my server rack, cheap 19" dells that don't match. Well, it is time to upgrade.

I've been wanting to go with a 6 monitor setup, I can get some cheap 19" monitors locally for $10 each from computer recycle shops and a 6 monitor stand for ~$150 online. This would set me out only $200 for a 6 monitor setup. Not bad, however these cheap monitors only support up to 1280x1024. I probably will want to opt for 1080p monitors, this increases price significantly.

My workhorse is a single EVGA GTX 570 HD DS, probably not going to pull off 6 monitors with the outputs available on this one. So I will need to look into a solution for this.

This will be used primarily for work, as I am lucky enough to have a telecommute job. All the gaming I do, I prefer to do on a single screen as I hate looking at bezels while gaming, they are usually okay during movies and work though.

Now, I am not sure where to begin my research for this, there are many options and I can easily spend a fortune on false marketing. Hopefully someone here knows the market and what is good to get and what not to get. So now I am reaching out to the community, please assist me in my next PC component purchase.

Hi Cheetohz,

I have a 10 monitor setup at home (work, daytrading, some gaming), so I can chip in.

Is this the card you have, does it push 4 monitor at this moment?

If so, then all you need is a great 4 monitor work card. I've used this card for a few months now and I love it : (Visiontek HD5570 SFF 4-port)

So here are your solutions:

If you have NO extra PCI express slots available, then you need to replace your 570 card with ONE card that does 6 monitors. Now that gives you 2 choices:
1- WORK ONLY: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C7EPSVS/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00C7EPSVS&tag=gott0b0-20&linkCode=as2
2- WORK + GAMING: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0085O90SQ/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0085O90SQ&tag=gott0b0-20&linkCode=as2

If you have at least ONE PCI express slot available, then KEEP that card and add a quad monitor videocard (if you get 6 monitors, i guarantee you'll want to update to 8 or 10 a few months later ;) )
1- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00554X4FE/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00554X4FE&tag=gott0b0-20&linkCode=as2

Or if you have 2 PCI express free, then any 2 cheap cards will do:

if you have any question dont hesitate. I've tried many things in the past, so i have some experience
