Yes it is compatible. Your gpu will just downgrade from Pcie 3.0 tp Pcie 2.0 bandwidth (since the motherboard only supports 2.0) but the performance costs are minimal (probably 1%). Hope this helps!

Edit: You should probably think of upgrading your mobo and cpu at some time. Also may I have your power supply's brand and model?

Well it depends from your budget. I personally believe you should upgrade your rig since you could see great performances improvements (both in gaming and programing). Please provide us with your pc's specs

It's custom, but so many years ago I don't really recall.

I think all I'm going to upgrade is my video card with that one and add some ram. I currently only have 4gb and I'm going to add 4gb
