8GB vs 2x4GB

Hi
I want upgrade my memory to 8GB, My mother board support dual channel and it has 4 memory module (GA-Z77-D3H)
Now My question is, should i use One 8GB(2x4) Corsair vengeance dual channel or Two 4GB(2x2) vengeance, which has best speed and performance?

    use 2 x 4 GB. So you could have room for more in the future. Lets say you want to add more 2x4. where as when you use 2 2x2 you have maxed out your slots and you wont have room for upgrades. :D
  2. get two sticks so you can have dual channel. if you have 1 8gb stick it will only run with half the max theoretical bandwidth. Probably not much of a difference though.

    oh so he was talking about ONE set of 4 sticks. I thought he was asking about one 8gb stick, hence the title 8gb vs 2x4gb
