can i transfer from old hdd to new hdd when i got old pirate windows on old hdd ?

im recently just upgrade my pc including windows, i cant backup my file because i dont have any external hdd to save it on and my question is, can i connect and move my old file from my old hdd when it also have old pirate windows? im currently using original windows 7 home premium and i want my old file back from old hdd. can anyone help me ? im afraid my old hdd will corrupt if i just connect it to my new pc
 
He ALREADY has a legal copy of windows, on his new PC. His old HDD has th epirated copy, and now he's afraid that the pirated copy may corrupt his new and LEGAL copy of windows 7.

There is no problem with that, you can just transfer the old files from your old HDD, it will cause no problems.

But sure. If the old stuff exists on a different drive....connect, pull off the old data, and wipe as necessary.
