Okay just curious to what card is better. The windforce GIGABYTE GV-N780GHZ-3GD GeForce GTX 780 or the r9 290x. Also can you SLI a 780TI with just a 780? Like sli the windforce 780 ti with the ghz 780 windforce? Or would it be better to wait for non reference r9 290x and crossfire? Iv been with AMD forever and kinda would like to try nvidia. But If the r9 290x non reference benchmarks are as awesome as the reference benchmarks then I might have to grab them. have a XFx 7970 right now and will be running a 3 monitor set up with 3 of those awesome Korean monitors. Sorry for spelling im on my phone!

1. If you are OK with hot GPUs (80C unoverclocked) and high power consumption, but better "raw" performance, go for the R9. If you want cooler GPU's, and less power consumption and more efficient, then get the 780.
2. NEVER EVER EVER on earth SLI two different video cards, no matter if its RAM size difference, GPU difference, etc. it will waste money.
3. I recommend SLI over Crossfire X because Nvidia solved the "micro stuttering" problem due to connector bridges have a slight delay.
4. The GTX 780Ti is overpriced. Just get one GTX 780 and add a second one when you need to.

If you don't mind waiting, definitely wait and see how the r9 290/290x turn out after non-reference coolers are released. The /290290x showed a lot of promise in reviews and would be a much better deal than the 780/780ti if the heat issues could be solved.

So the r9 290x outperforms the GHZ 780 even though the 780 is clocked higher? The gigabyte windforce 780 seems crazy powerul. Should I just wait for the non reference 290x since they will OC and be way cooler? That gigabyte GHz windforce is on par with the titan and 780 ti

Well, the non-reference 290x won't be oc'd so much as it will be able to maintain its higher clock rate. AMD did something totally different with how the cards work in that they advertise the turbo boosted clock rate, instead of base/turbo clock rates like with before (and with what nVidia does). In Tom's reviews, cards were never able to come close to maintaining that advertised clock rate and instead settled at a lower clock rate. Non-reference cards should hopefully mediate that issue and also hopefully lead to a higher turbo clock rate.
