You don't need to. Even thou it's preferable since MSI might have done some improvements, which is why updates exist lol.. But don't worry, in case you don't feel like upgrading your BIOS, MSI will not sell you a software(bios) defective hardware.

If your CPU matches your mobo socket then it of course will. Example:

FX 8350 = AM3+ socket
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 = AM3+ socket

;)

DO NOT ever update a bios unless it will fix a problem you have.
A failed bios update can brick your motherboard.

If your motherboard is new stock, it will have the latest bios, or close to it.
Considering that the 4670K has been out for some time, I would not worry.

To be certain, go to the msi web site and look for your motherboard. There should be a cpu support list, and the bios levels necessary for each cpu. On the bios download list, there will be a date that the bios was released.

Yes you're right. As I mentioned, there's no need to upgrade bios unless there's something to get fixed. Since you recently bought that mobo, as I said, MSI will not sell you a software(bios) defective hardware.

looking through msi website and check for cpu support, it mentioned my cpu i5-4670k in the list, and here is provided bios update from msi site http://us.msi.com/product/mb/Z87-G43-GAMING.html#download

so do i need to download or just use default bios in ur opinion?

what is software (bios) defective hardware?...sorry im new in this field :)

It looks to me that the 4670K was supported from day 1 release with bios a.0 on 8/02/2013.
There was a later update a.1 on 8/16/2013 and no others so you should be good to go without doing anything.

What I'm saying is that if you recently bought your motherboard, it will come with the latest BIOS on it. Meaning it's already stable and there's no need to upgrade as in upgrading your BIOS can become extremely unstable and fail.
