I want to get a good laptop for college and it'd be great if it had good gaming capability as well. I was thinking of getting this: HP ENVY 15-j067cl, and from the research I did it can play most modern games on low detail at 720p. So my question was, would games like Battlefield 4 look terrible on low quality and how would it compare to gaming quality on game consoles? Also, any other thoughts would be great.

Really you'll have troubles running it, at low it'll HARDLY get past 30 FPS, and in a first person shooter 20 FPS is terrible.

Ok, changed my mind about the original laptop. I don't need an i7 anyway. Ill keep that as a second option. I found another really good one: HP ENVY 15z-j100 Notebook - Smart Buy

Yes much better. Now you won't max BF4 but at med settings you'll hit 45FPS and drop to 25 (in wide areas or intense scenes). The main issue is heating as for all laptops. A fanpad should be an useful gadget to think of.
