Will buying a MB with a 9xx chip set have a large marginal benefit over a MB with a 7xx chipset?

I recently purchased all the parts to build my $600 gaming pc but later realized the MB i purchased had a 760G chipset. I found a MB with a 970 chipset for only $15 more. What would the impact difference on my gaming be like after updating to the 970A chipset motherboard? Is there a marginal benifit? Is it worth it?

Though the second MB is only $15 more, the cost of doing an RMA includes shipping and a restocking fee. I really need to know how big a difference having a 970 chipset will make for gaming compared to my current 760G.
